Avast Business Antivirus 21.9
« on: November 08, 2021, 07:57:04 PM »
Release: early November 2021.
Release Summary

This release contains new improvements and bug fixes to our Avast Business Antivirus client.

The new version of Avast Business Antivirus will be available for new installations immediately. All existing devices will start the automatic upgrade to this version at a later time.

If you wish to upgrade your devices to this version prior to the automatic upgrade, you can create a new Task (Update device – Program update task) from your console.

A system reboot will be required to complete the installation. There will be no forced reboot, unless you have set this in your device policy settings. Servers will never reboot, regardless of your device policy settings.

New Feature(s) & Enhancements

•   Stronger Web Shield — You’re now better protected from malicious websites thanks to our scanning improvements.
•   Better Windows 11 compatibility — You’re protected on the newest version of Windows, too.
•   Apps with similar protocol to HTTP no longer have conflicts with Web Shield.

Resolved issues and small improvements

•   Remote Access Shield dialogue memory issue resolved.

I can't find the installer within the Business Dashboard any more.

Where do we download the installer for new devices?

It was either this upgrade or the last one ( 20.8 ) that has introduced a new problem.

I have the Password Protection enabled and set but now I can no longer access anything unless I'm logged in as an administrator on the machine. If a non administrative user tries to access the UI or temporarily disable the shields... a dialog is shown with the message "You are not allowed to perform this action, please contact your system administrator.".

I cannot work with this. >:(

Hi mschedler1,

thanks for letting us know. We're aware of this issue and already working on a fix.
