Control deletions?

I'm still using Picasa 3 to manage photos. Yes, I know Google don't support it but I haven't found anything else that does the job as well.

However, when I use Avast cleanup it deletes all the thumbnail images and I have to rebuild them. Thousands and thousands of shots.

Is there any way to have CleanUp ignore these?
