I have purchased avast 4 Professional Edition and have a license key.  To register, my email instruction says to start Avast and press "Registration" during the memory scan in to get the registration dialogue box.  But my trial version has expired, and on startup I get a message that says my computer is unprotected.  How and where do I register?

You can also right click on the avast 'a' icon and select about avast!

From the pop-up dialogue window click on the License key... you should now get another pop-up, paste your license key into that text entry window.

If the icon is not on system tray, what I'm thinking it is not, run ashdisp.exe from avast folder and you'll find the same window as David posted.

AshDisp.exe gave me the notice of trial period expiration dialogue box again, but I tried the other .exe files in the Awil/Avast folder and ashAvast.exe gave me the dialogue.  Thanks!

The about avast would have done the same thing as indicated in the image I posted.

No matter so long as you have it resolved.
