ProtonVPN is blocked by Avast. How do I fix it?

I have ProtonVPN installed, but Avast is blocking it.  How do I fix that?
Avast has been interfering for awhile, but with this latest update, it is completely blocked, as far as I can tell.

- Which version/build of Avast..?
- OS..? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP/Build..?)
- Other security related software installed..?
