hide avast icon
« on: December 09, 2021, 11:05:11 PM »
The 'show avast icon' in notifications is not ticked but the icon is in the taskbar whenever i start my computer.

I need to open then close the interface for the icon to disappear.

Yes, but what is the feature for if it does not work?

I can't answer that if you haven't tried it and said what happens ?
I'm also not sure what you mean by "Yes, but what is the feature for if it does not work?"

If you meant 'future' then we will cross that bridge when we need to.

Hiding the icon doesn't mean it's not working.
It's just not being displayed but can still be reached by
selecting that ^ arrow.

I'm on Windows 11 and nothing has changed. Hiding still works as before.
Right click on an empty spot of the taskbar and select taskbar settings.
Select Taskbar corner overflow and from there you can select what items to show or hide.

The tray is automatically loaded to the taskbar at each restart.

Since I'm using Avast One, I can't be of any further help.I can tell you that in Avat One,
the second I unselected Show Avast One icon in system tray, the icon vanished from the systray.

Have you tried Repairing Avast.
Menu>Settings>Thoubleshooting>[Repair App]

Then see what happens on Restart.

try to see if you don't have 2 x the avast application in the applications to show in the taskbar, since the 21.10 update we are already several to have noticed that and it's the wrong icon that is configured to be displayed in the system settings of the taskbar

don't know about that, but just installed Avast one free and unticked 'show icon in taskbar', restarted pc, and icon appeared in taskbar.

I know you can hide it using windows, but its not the same and is puzzling the option is still available when it does not function.
