Whilst there is nothing on the web site yet (it will be updated in due course), it does give the latest version number 4.7.1074 on the avast.com home page. There is a new beta release of avast for the Windows Home Server and there were some updates made to avast home/pro to support this, which at the time weren't released to the regular release of avast 4 home/pro.

I can only guess after those trials, etc. they have been incorporated into the regular release of avast 4 home/pro along with any outstanding fixes for avast 4 home/pro. We will just have to wait for the web site to catch up rather than hod the release of 4.7.1074.

I have now such isues and the stop error NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS, seems somewhat strange. There are lots of hits for the stop error code, but they have such a different range of causes, http://www.google.com/search?q=0x00000035.

This MS one may be close to the mark (see image), http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906866, it relates to XP (and server 2003) but may well carry forward to Vista.

Does it happen on subsequent boots, I would expect it to if the MS KB article is correct in the more than three file security programs.

Re Tech's blue screen: I took a look at the dump, and I have to say I doubt it's related to avast in any way.
The following driver seems to be guilty: sp_rsdrv.sys (which is said to belong to Spyware Terminator).

Probably just a coincidence?

Thanks
Vlk

I'll do some more research. Indeed the resident of Spyware Terminator is there.
Thanks for your time on analyzing this.

Because the program updates are scheduled over a seven day cycle to balance server load. Some time in that cycle avast would notify you of the update and ask if you want to install it.

You might be lucky to be asked early in the 7 day cycle or unlucky to be notified on day 7.

The one thing for sure those on the forums get to know early and can do a manual update.
