avast! 4 update server down?
« on: March 06, 2004, 10:44:51 PM »
Hello there,

Avast! 4 Home version is unable to connect to the update server for 5 days now.

My Avast! version is 4.1 Home Edition.

It reports server www.iavs.cz (217.31.49.244:80) is down.

Anyone with similar symptoms, experience?

Please, assist.

Otherwise the program is excellent.

Regards,

Simon Molnar

Tried it right now. all the servers are up'n'running.

Are your proxy/firewall settings okay?

Does 'Test' button in iAVS settings work?

i have no test button. Only in the notification settings. i cant look at proxy settings as the proxy button does not react. (i click on the button and nothing happens.)

A personal firewall, nevertheless, was recently tested on the system, but it has been deactivated a couple of days ago. (Zone Labs)

I am sure the servers are OK, it must be a setting on my side, but I cant figure it out.

Thank you for your help.

Can you manually ping that websites?
You can find a list of the IP to ping at FAQ of avast! (both on-line and off-line, ie, in the help files).
Can you reach the servers at your browser?  :-\

The program fixed itself. Now it updates like a charm.

Thanks for the support.
