Windows 2003 server (X64) support in the home edition
« on: October 29, 2007, 10:45:16 AM »
Hi There

Running win 2003 server (X64) at home. The home edition refuses to install complaning that SP4 is not installed. There is no SP 4 to my knowledge for Win 2003 server.

Will the home edition be fixed to support win 2003 server for use at home. Purchase of a corporate licence is not an option.

How do I get avast installed at home on this box.

Best regards.

LEO.

avast! Home (or even avast! Professional) cannot be installed on Win 2003 server, only avast! Server Edition.
I'm afraid this behavior won't be changed.

Hi Igor

Many thanks for the reply. Cant afford $400 for the licence, will just wait for the demo to expire and upgrade to Ubuntu. I assume the Linux version will support the 64bit version of Kubuntu/Ubuntu.
