In the 'Program Settings' menu, there is an option to 'Show results of Explorer Extension'.  I use Free Download Manager, and have configured it so ashQuick scans for viruses on my downloads, if the 'Show results of Explorer Extension' is unchecked, will I be notified if it finds a virus?

Yes. You'll receive a virus warning.

The 'Show results of Explorer Extension' displays a list of all files that were scanned by ashQuick.exe. The default is not to show 'unchecked' as by its nature it is meant to be a quick scan so you don't want to display information about the scanned file.

This in no way impacts the alert function which will wake the dead should it find an infected file.

Actually, it doesn't show all the scanned files - just a brief statistics (where you'd see "Number of infected files: 0").
Anyway, yes, the virus warning is always shown.
