Avast One System Tray Icon

I have the setting: "Show Avast One icon in my system tray" disabled. But when I turn on my PC It's still there. To turn it off again I have to go back into Avast One and turn the setting off and on. Is there any fix to this? Thank you.

Can you please turn off Avast One in "Turn system icons on or off" (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/customize-the-taskbar-notification-area-e159e8d2-9ac5-b2bd-61c5-bb63c1d437c3) then go back to Avast One, disable "Show Avast One icon in my system tray" and restart your PC?

Posted about this problem here as well using avast free antivirus.  I guess avast one is having the same issue.

Just tried your advice but within the Windows Settings app, avast does not appear using the "Turn system icons on or off" menu.  It does however appear on the "Select which icons appear on the taskbar", but that just allows windows to kinda hide it, its not the same as removing it from the tray altogether, which is surely the intention of unchecking the avast setting to show the tray icon.

You can hide it. You can't remove it.
