Hello Guys I just want to say that avast! Linux edition is running fine in Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty. Just install libpthread20 available at packages.ubuntu.com before you install avast.

It can scan all your hard drives whether it is FAT32, NTFS, or ext3. But I think it will not delete files in NTFS because Kubuntu Feisty's support for ntfs is read only.

Theoretically, all Ubuntu products can run avast without a glitch.

Please add some replies here for other successful Linux distro that runs avast! smoothly...

Seems to work OK in Ubuntu 7.10. The GUI just needs bringing into the 21st century.

Fully agree.
A email plugin won't be bad either.

GUI wouldn't be so bad if the fonts were fixed.

Also needs incremental updating like windows version, updating is a pain on dial-up  :(

Yeah... avast interface on Linux is quite poor... specially after a lot of GUI improvements on latest Linux distros and updates.

Incremental updates are being worked on; let's hope it's finished soon.

Very good distro. Very good work form Carlos Morimoto.
Anyway, I'd rather an international distro, with a forum/support international. Kubuntu is one of the most 'updated' distros nowadays: twice a year. Kurumin has help in Portuguese better than Kubuntu.
I have two real installations of Kubuntu and one virtual. I just used Kurumin two years ago.
