I don't think it has anything to do with UAC - the chest executable is started exactly the same way as log viewer from the same menu.
The menu itself is handled slightly differently... but I wouldn't expect it to fail. Do you use any special theme / gui setting?

Does anyone know if high CPU was one of the problems with 1074 (XP Home)? My CPU has sure calmed down down since getting 1083, and subsequently 1085.

Not that I'm aware of, no problems with 1074 or any of the beta releases with XP Pro.

Trying again now, nothing... I can start from Enhanced Interface (open the folder) or directly from the exe file. But by the icon on system tray or even right clicking the skin, the Chest is not opening... strange uh?

I'd check windows logs if any application (like chest) failed to run. Otherwise try Repair feature in avast!.
My Chest seems to work just fine regardless from where i start it...

Thanks DavidR, but that's not the answer I was hoping for! ;D  I didn't have any luck troubleshooting it with Task Manager or Process Explorer, but will have to try again if it recurs.

The beta is now updated to 4.7.1087. This is probably the latest beta before the update goes gold.

BTW all .1083 and .1085 users are forcefully updated to .1087 so don't be surprised when avast asks you for OS restart next time the VPS is updated. :)
