Problem with avast! self-defense

Everytime I want just turn off self-defense off it then turns automatically on for no reason.
Can someone tell me how I can keep it disabled without touching the GUI?

I have already tried to reinstall it again, I am stuck with this issue

I would have to agree with alanb in asking, 'why you 'need' to disable it permanently'  ?

I have been using Avast Free for over 17 years and haven't found the avast self-defence to adversely impact my PC usage. 
It is there to prevent avast from easily being disabled by malware, etc.

Some more details might help.
