Threat Secured: Aborted connection
« on: January 16, 2022, 05:11:01 AM »
Started: January 14th, 2022
PC: x-64 Windows 10 Pro / 10.0.19044 Build 19044 / i7CPU /Mem 12GB

1. Avast Premium Security (21.11.2500 (build 21.11.6809.528)and Malewarebytes worked well together before January 14th
2. When opening "Google Chrome," I get this alert consistently! "We safely aborted the connection," even after doing a scan. (see image). It is pretty annoying.
3. I have Avast Premium Security and allowed the program Malwarebytes, but the same results.
4. I access Amazon.co.jp and Amazon.com from Japan and never have this alert. I have had no suspicious emails from these sites outside of standard recommendations through their algorithms.
5. I could disable "notifications," but that would defeat its purpose.

Updating might be a separate topic.
Updating: virus and program databases will not upgrade. I can only upgrade through ExpressVPN.

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

Hi Guys,

I looked at the URLs.
I disabled this extension: Amazon Chrome Assistant.
The threat has stopped for now.  (24 hours)

Thank you for your kindness and help.

Hi, I am experiencing the same issue but a little different. I do not know how to create a post here, so I am replying to this one.

Whenever I plug my ethernet cable into my computer and connect to the internet, I get a pop up that says that a connection to a website using chrome was aborted. I get this out of noware. It happened a lot of times while I was away from my computer, but it also happened while I was there. I did NOT try to access any websites while this was happening and at one time my google was running in the background. If I could get some help here, that would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

At top in evry forum section is a New Topic button, you will not see it when you enter a topic, it then changes to Reply
