Hi,
Im posting this thread in order to obtain more information about the event that has occurred today in our company and understand the situation better, in order to avoid such incidents in the future.
Your antivirus software suddenly started reporting the thumbnails hosted on our CDN as URL:Phishing. The content reported as phishing is a regular .png file.
We found out about the problem from support tickets created by our customers. As you can imagine, it had an impact on our work, as it required resolving those tickets, explaining the situation to our customers (who were warned about security threat on our website) and could have potentially damage our brand.
We have instantly reported false-positive using this link we've found -
https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.phpSadly, we have not received any confirmation about the false-positive report, nor any information about time that you need to verify this false-positive submission.
Please provide following information via private message:
- what is a regular reaction time from false-positive submission to resolving?
- do you send any kind of confirmation about receiving such submission?
- do you send confirmation about resolve status?
- why such situation even occurred? - you have blocked regular .png files - please provide justification
- please provide an email contact address to your incident department that can be used in future in such situations.
The details of the false-positive submission can be found using email address I have used to registed this account.
Best regards.
