When I receive an email I perceive to be phishing, empty/phishing/spear phishing/other, on a platform the would require me to open it before reporting and blocking.

Should I be deleting them on unread or should I be opening them to report it as malicious to email provider and block it?
On one hand they know I've opened it and sell/trade email addresses that click on dubious emails but o the other hand it might help others and at the very least I wont get any more from that address.

If one looks visually identical to the real deal or is good spear phishing, I will always forward it to the imitated companies phishing account and the .Gov.UK phishing account before reporting and blocking, but what about the others?

Hi,

In general, if you don't trust the sender, it is best to delete the email without opening it.
