Is Avast known to scam people for refunds?
« on: January 23, 2022, 07:21:23 PM »
I've requested a refund for an Anti-Trak Premium I never ment to buy, never used, never will use. The purchase was done by mistake, was not fully authorised from my end (I've taken that with my bank) so because I never authorised it, I never tought it will go thorugh. After it went through, I went over to Avast chat, made a request for a refund, the request was never questioned or rejected, they just told me the've "passed the request to the competent team". They've promised me 7 to 10 business days, after that, when I came back via chat, they've asked for another 5 to 7 business days, after this I've phoned them and they gave me another 5 days, five days later they just told me they did everything they could and I should just wait, because "the payment was not standard" (that's a lie, the payment was an online debit card payment). In the meantime nothing happend. No refund, nothing. I've come to realise this might be a scam, as I've politely requested for a confirmation email, comfirming my request was recorded and registered, they were very adamand they cannot send such confirmation email, all they're ever willing to do is to give me a random number (a so called "case number"), so I think the request for the refund was never even registered, so will never go through.

Did anyone had this issue? Is this a scam? I've come to terms with the loss, I'm just curious. I'm not planning to use the product I've paid for, I rather take the loss than have scammers in my comp.

Thanks.

I also requested a refund for anti track.  I had an Avast technician remove the program but he said he could not give me a refund and gave me a case number 15011167.  I have been trying every day since I bought this product to get a refund and have been going around in circles.  Why does Avast have to make this so hard?   ..... so you give up ....and don't get a refund
