false positive phishing website, reported via form, no response
« on: January 25, 2022, 10:36:00 AM »
Hi, does anyone know how long does it typically take for avast to respond to requests sent via https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php for incorrectly flagged phishing websites? I have made an inquiry 5 days ago regarding hxtps://b2b.holidayplan.ro/ and I don't know if I should just give up, ask here for a follow-up (this is a users only forum from what I gather, so it's unlikely I would get an official response via here, methinks) or try re-reporting via the form.

Any advice from other victims of the false positive phishing flag?

Kind regards,
George

Nothing much I/we can do on the forum, only the guys from Threat Labs can unblock it.

Hi,
I used the form 8 days ago and I have no answer and correction about my demand on false-positive detection.
My website is www.ynitia.com and the AVAST message is about URL:Phishing.

Can someone from AVAST do anything please?

Best regards
Nicolas VESLIN

Hi nicolas.veslin,

Certainly your site is insecure because of outdated PHP: https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/www.ynitia.com
Outdated CMS plug-ins:
   wpfront-scroll-top 2.0.4   Warning   latest release (2.0.7.08086)
http://wpfront.com/scroll-top-plugin/
contact-form-7 5.5.3   Warning   latest release (5.5.4)
https://contactform7.com/
wordpress-seo 17.9   Warning   latest release (18.0)
https://yoa.st/1uj
Plugins are a source of many security vulnerabilities within WordPress installations, always keep them updated to the latest version available and check the developers plugin page for information about security related updates and fixes.

User enumeration: The first two user ID's were tested to determine if user enumeration is possible.

Username   Name
ID: 1   admin8677
ID: 2   not found
It is recommended to rename the admin user account to reduce the chance of brute force attacks occurring. As this will reduce the chance of automated password attackers gaining access. Take note that if the author archives are enabled it is usually possible to enumerate all users within a WordPress installation.

 Directory Indexing
In the test an attempt was made to list the directory contents of the uploads and plugins folders to determine if Directory Indexing is enabled. This is a common information leakage vulnerability that can reveal sensitive information regarding your site configuration or content.

Path Tested   Status
/wp-content/uploads/      enabled
/wp-content/plugins/      disabled
Directory indexing is tested on the /wp-content/uploads/ and /wp-content/plugins/ directores. Note that other directories may have this web server feature enabled, so ensure you check other folders in your installation. It is good practice to ensure directory indexing is disabled for your full WordPress installation either through the web server configuration or .htaccess.

External link via CloudFlarenet: -colibriwp.com could have caused this FP.

But address the outdated CMS asap,

polonus

Hi!
Thank you polonus for your answer.
I updated the plugins with no effects.
Finally, a human being from Avast mailed me that they will check and the tomorrow, the website was got out of the black list.

I keep your recommandations in mind for the futur.
Thank you
Nicolas Veslin
