« on: November 27, 2007, 01:04:30 PM »
Another major security flaw in QT 7.x (including latest 7.3), irony as 7.3 fixed another issue some week ago

I fixed it permanently last week, I finally gave up on QuickTime when I couldn't connect to their servers to get the latest security update QuickTime got uninstalled. I tried numerous times over a week but just kept getting the the server might be busy.

The update feature from within Quicktime does not work anymore, you must use the Apple Software Update program. Which you are asked to install when you install QT 7.x, iTunes 7.x or Safari 3.0.x

Hi marc57,

While I write this I listen to Led Zeppelin on streaming radio via VLC media player. Now that Microsoft bugs are not that prominent anymore, more and more bugs are being found with other apps like Adobe, QuickTime.
I also have Miro from Participatory Culture to watch free video channels. They update it ever so much. Like it.

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

Hey polonus,

The main reason I got away from Adobe and QuickTime was the bloat, It seemed there were always pieces of them wanting to load at startup and slow my system down.

Have you tried Foxit Reader? It's a great replacement for Adobe's reader.

That is what I was using, I had to download that for an earlier update.
