How to disable Avast Free Antivirus Program updates (not definitions)? Version 21
Manual update option can be overridden by Avast.

I have problems with new version (22)

Version spoofing in registry possible?

I have not had a problem with Manual Update being overridden. I think we would have had more complaints on the forum if that was happening generally.

Have you tried Repair of Avast.
Menu>Settings>Troubleshooting>[Repair App]

Likewise, I have had the Avast Program updates set to Manual for some time and not received a regular program update until I initiated it.

Currently I'm still on Avast Free 21.11.2500 (build 21.11.6809.528).

Weird...

My two Win7x64 PCs updated last week. Both were set on manual update. I uninstalled v22, installed v21, and same day Avast updated itself to v22.

Mine is set that way and it hasn't forced an updated, is it reports an update is available.
