My homepage shortcuts keeps getting wiped

I have the basic avast browser homepage where you can set up shortcuts, but they keep getting wiped and replaced by website I don't want, Google, Amazon, Facebook and whatnots. I do have profile saved and I did not turn on synchronisation.

it's possible that some new shortcuts have been added by us but if you remove them and create yours, we should never wipe them.

Please could you be more specific?
- were your shortcuts removed? (by "your" I mean the ones you added via "+" button manually)
- how many sponsored shortcuts are displayed (you can attach screenshot)
- did it happen that you removed a sponsored shortcut and the same one returned?
- does the situation repeat?

How is it that this problem has been going on now for 3 years and Avast still hasn't fix this problem even though there have been thousands of complaints. Are they that incompetent. How hard is it to code a browser to stop changing user installed shortcuts.
I have read post after post stating the same issue and 'supposedly', Avast team members, asking the same stupid questions as to what shortcuts are changing. As if after 3years they still haven't figured it out.
I have attached a screenshot of what my Google shortcuts are and had the same thing on my Avast browser but EACH AND EVERYTIME there is an avast update all my shortcuts are replaced by shortcuts of sites that I visited recently. Why the hell would I even need that!!!. If I wanted to go back to a recently visited website all I need to do is check my history tab.

Maybe it's time that we move to a different browser.

@ondrejz  your statement about if a user changes the shortcuts they will never change again is WRONG. I submitted a post on that. The shortcuts CHANGE each time Avast does an update. Avast needs to disable that in the coding.

How would you feel if each time you boot your PC your desktop screen is changed.

I just started using the Avast browser and I am having the same issue with home page shortcuts being wiped after I add them.  I will be uninstalling the browser if this issue is not properly addressed very soon!

I'm currently evaluating the software. Has this issue been fixed now? Have you guys tried toggling off the "Allow sponsored content to be displayed" under the browser's Settings?



Also, anybody knows how to import Google browser home page shortcuts into Avast Secure Browser's home page shortcuts?

My shortcuts have been the same for many, many month.
The only time they've changed is when I changed (added) something.
