Windows security warning
« on: December 03, 2007, 01:58:03 PM »
I have recently switched computers and installed Avast onto my new computer.  Now I constantly receive a windows security alert saying Avast may not be up to date even though I have manually installed all updates available.  Does anyone know why this is or how I can fix it?  I did not have this problem with avast on my old computer.  I appreciate anyone's help!

@ lisagig
This could be as simple as the system date being incorrect, double click the clock and check the day month and year and adjust as required.

You shouldn't just kill the symptom but try to identify the disease.

No problem, but hopefully it points to you should investigate any windows security alert (assuming it is a windows alert), google is your friend.

Sometimes, viruses and malware change the system time and date. I suggest you fully scan with avast and if you have one, an antitrojan (like AVG or SuperAntispyware or SpywareTerminator).
