Botnets
« on: April 18, 2022, 04:07:43 AM »
When I access my Alienware command center I get a warning from avast that it stopped a connection infected with botnet. Its predicable so makes me think I am infected with something. Should I be worried.

Hi orrieandruth,

Do you have an Asus router by the way or update when on a Fios Router? (Fios Quantum Gateway)
Read: https://www.techspot.com/news/93850-cyclops-blink-modular-botnet-malware-actively-exploiting-asus.html

For recent botnet malware activity reports, see: https://urlhaus.abuse.ch/ (Mirai bot in particular)

This comes to mind in your case: https://maltiverse.com/search;query=alienware;page=1;sort=creation_time_desc
2 flags for Docusign Generig Phising and for a kind of covid-19-scam from - alienware-wuhan dot club

Would you like to report back here if MBAM has found anything in the line of malbot activity?

Have a nice Easter-Monday,

polonus

Hi orrieandruth,

Did you by the way do anything in the way of 'torrenting'.  Either because of trying to torrent or because of encountering BCMUPnP_Hunter botnet, Mirai, Torii, VPNFilter, and other botnets or related malicious files,
the avast pop-up could have become triggered.
Did you report here: https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php ?
