Smart VPN mode not so smart
« on: April 23, 2022, 07:36:24 AM »
My Vpn on "Smart VPN mode"
defaults on Prague, Czech Republic. It is so frustrating. I have to switch to manual mode to change the country.
I wish Avast will let you change your country in Smart mode.
If I change to manual and set it on the settings so that it automatically activates the VPN then it doesn't do that.
So frustrated.

I am not going to do that.
I have told you the problem I have.
I have given you the info that you wanted, so how is support going to help me if you are the Forum master?
I think you can tell support.
It is now the third time that I have raised this issue and I am tired of explaining the same thing over and over.
I had NordVpn before this and had absolutely no problem with them with the same specs, same laptop...etc.
I just know that if this does not get seen to I will have to revert back to NordVpn.

Asyn isn't Avast Team member or the Forum Master, but an Avast User (for a very long time) just like yourself trying to help.

Oh ok then I apologize Asyn, but I am a bit frustrated with the support. Attached is a screenshot about the Forum master assuming that you were the FM.

1. In manual mode it stays on the same city (Johannesburg - South Africa). If you choose another country and you go back to South Africa it defaults on the same city which is Johannesburg again.

2. In auto mode it defaults always on Prague, Czech Republic.

Often a pop-up appears asking if you are happy with the product and whereby I will reply and give comments like i did now, that I am not happy about this.

Hi,

Based on what you have described, SecureLine VPN seems to work as it should. The servers are not necessarily auto-selected based on your location.

@ hans1092
That (image) is purely the forum software emailing a notification that you have had a reply in your topic.  You will no doubt had another one for r@vast (who is Avast Team) and my reply.

I suggest that you now Edit that reply and delete that screenshot as it shows your email address.
