Make voice announcements in female voice
« on: December 11, 2007, 10:38:09 AM »
It would be nice to make a female voice announcement scheme. For male computer users, this is way more pleasing and improves overall program impression.
I might be wrong but it was so some day.

Thank you.

Welcome to forums.
You can set whatever sound/voice (custom) if you want another one.
There is a wishlist, although it's very big nowadays ;) (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=12640.0).

In the first place, why should we stick to human voices?  How about employing cats, for example?

This is way more pleasing and improves overall program impression...well, I admit that it is tough to figure out what they are saying, though.

Is there a possibility to download this female voice (english version)?
I had installed it on my old PC but the harddrive crashing down  :'(
and all data lost - no backup.
At this time i use Sasha`s version on my laptop and this sound enjoys me very much.
But it has unfortunately no female touch  ;D

Thanks Rafel,
sorry for my missunderstanding, i only know Catalania is a part of Spain?

And spelling may be different from Spanish like in Austria there is an difference
between Upper-Austria (where i live) and for example Vienna in the east of Austria,
so called native language.

Am i correct?

And thanks for your upload.
I will give it a chance in the evening,  :) must go to work now.

Wish all a nice day

Well, Catalonia is in Spain. Catalan is a language spoked in Catalonia, Valencia(called valencian :D, my avatar is the land of València.) and Balears Islands. But catalan/valencian isn't a dialect of spanish, is another language, with different grammar and vocabulary.
I'm valencian, and there is differences of spelling and vocabulary betwen catalan of Catalonia and catalan of València, also called valencian. Well, is more complex, but this is a general explanation.
Is the same like portuguese of Portugal and Portuguese of Brasil, and i think the same between german of upper-Austria and german of Vienna.
This file is catalan of Catalonia, because has the catalan pronunciation:
Per exemple, when the virus.data is updated you can hear:
La base de dades de virus ha estat actualitzada corretament.
Cat pron.: (the pron. of the file)
la basa da dadas da virus ha stat actualidzada curractamen.
Val pron.:
la base de dades de virus ha stat actualizada correctament.

I uploaded some voices back in 2004. Vlk made them available at Alwil's server. To download first set, go here:

and there are some Terminal sounds I created as well. You can download them here:

Thanks Vlk for uploading them.  ;)
