When trying to view videos from https://www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/fbi-international/episodes/s1-e19
I get the following error message

undefined
Error Code: INVALID_POLICY_KEY
Technical details :
Request policy key is missing or invalid
Session ID: 2022-06-21:343d16dc962eca017bffc5b3 Player Element ID: vjs_video_3

Turning OFF Avast Adblock did NOT fix the issue.

Turning on third party cookies (except in private mode) did NOT fix the issue.

Closing and reopening Avast Secure Browser did NOT fix the issue.

Using Opera browser did fix the issue.  However I would prefer to use Avast Secure Browser.

Any other suggestions

Hi 0987steve,

we are looking into it.
Can you please share your diagnostic information? It will help us with the investigation.

1. Open the browser and click on the menu icon (3 dots in the upright corner)
2. Click on “Help and About Avast Secure Browser” and then “About Avast Secure Browser”
3. Click on “Diagnostic Information” (this will open a pop-up window)
4. Click the “COPY TO CLIPBOARD” button to capture the information and paste it here.

Thank you!

Could you please try to disable extension Anti-Fingerprinting?
beghmmhchncjignfbfnemngnlnjdmbcb : Avast Anti-Fingerprinting : 2.5.211

Goto secure://extensions  and disable it

Please let us know if this fixes the problem.

Although "beghmmhchncjignfbfnemngnlnjdmbcb : Avast Anti-Fingerprinting : 2.5.211" was listed in the enabled extensions ,
when I followed your instructions "Goto secure://extensions and disable it"
I could NOT see "Avast Anti-Fingerprinting: 2.5.211".  as shown in the attached screen print.

How can I directly access the configuration file so I can just delete the entry for Avast Anti-Fingerprinting?
( Like I have done with RegEdit to directly change the windows registry entries. )
BTW I am an extremely experienced programmer and understand the risks with direct configuration file manipulation. Therefore I always make an onboard and offboard copy of the config file before any changes.

You are AWESOME ASYN!!!   Obviously it worked, sort of.

My original problem of "INVALID POLICY KEY" in public (not private) mode still exists and I was unable to turn off "Anti-Fingerprinting" on the "secure://extensions/" for public mode.

Avast Support could you please make "Anti-Fingerprinting" be normally visible on the "secure://extensions/" page and ABLE TO BE TURNED OFF for public mode. Note:"Source Added by policy" on Anti Fingerprinting details page.

WORK AROUND -

0. Receive "INVALID POLICY KEY" error when trying to view video.

1. Goto "secure://flags" and find "Show internal extensions". Then click on "Default" and change to "Enabled").

2. Goto "secure://extensions/" and select "Details" on "Avast Anti-Fingerprinting"

3. Find "Allow in Private Mode" and change to OFF. (If allowed change to Anti-Fingerprinting OFF on top line)

4. Click on the three dots in upper right had corner and then click on "New Private Mode Window". (or  press Ctrl+Shift+N )

5. Enter the URL for the video you want to watch in the new private window.

6. Enjoy watching your video.
