Avast and Windows 11 Lockscreen Slideshow (screensaver)
« on: June 22, 2022, 09:57:57 PM »
Hello,

Does Avast stop the Windows 11 Lockscreen Slideshow (screensaver) from running?

I cannot find any reason why my Lockscreen Slideshow (screensaver) doesn't seems to work any more.  I have tried the various solutions suggested on a Windows help page, without effect.

Thank you in advance.

I can't see why it would, after all it is just another program.

If it was stopping it I would have thought you would get some sort of message if avast was stopping it.

You didn't say what you had tried, so I could be repeating what you have tried:

I had a similar thing on my friend's Windows 11. And he never used Avast. It just seems like some bug in Windows 11, that happened because during  yet another update it got some settings disabled (happened before on Windows 10 too sometimes). Either way, it should be unrelated to Avast.

Thank you to the two people who have replied.  Yes, I have tried that Windows help webpage.  And yes, I did have the same problem with Windows 10 sometimes (although I had Avast then too), so I guess it is probably a Windows update issue.

You're welcome, sorry it hasn't been more productive.

I have never used the Windows Lock Screen function (so no personal experience), preferring to have a timeout to a blank screen on my Laptop.
