AAVM Scanning Error while copying to another computer
« on: December 12, 2007, 03:40:42 PM »
I was copying a file to another computer on my local network and it took forever and this error was in the event viewer.  IIRC the 00000005 error is access denied, but it copied...just took forever. Thoughts?

Sorry but it seems unrelated.  The file was not on my local machine and it wasn't a picture/jpeg so the thumbs.dll seems unrelated.  Is there something I am missing?  This was a copy to a remote system.  Could both the receiving computer and the sending computer be trying to scan the file causing slow down and access problems.

it seems to me that the problem with a file or an update of office2007 (kb936982), try repair Office2007.

That's just the file that I was copying...It has also done this on other files on a remote computer.  I don't think this has anything to do with Office.  Anyone else have any thoughts?

Their is a major problem with the current release, I was moving a directory from one SBS computer to another W2003 Server box using a UNC path and received over 7000 errors in the event log and 7000 e-mails warrning me of the problem. I'm a reseller in California and 3 of my customers have also reported the same problem. Here is an example of the errors:

[MONROE]: AAVM - scanning warning: x_AavmCheckFileDirectEx [UNI]: \\Harley\Software\Archive Software\_ArchiveSave\Windows-KB890830-V1.1-ENU.exe (\\Harley\Software\Archive Software\_ArchiveSave\Windows-KB890830-V1.1-ENU.exe) returning error, 00000005.

[MONROE]: AAVM - scanning warning: x_AavmCheckFileDirectEx [UNI]: \\Harley\Software\Archive Software\_ArchiveSave\Windows-KB890830-V1.1-ENU.exe (\\Harley\Software\Archive Software\_ArchiveSave\Windows-KB890830-V1.1-ENU.exe) returning error, 00000005.

[MONROE]: AAVM - scanning error: x_AavmCheckFileDirectEx: avfilesScanReal of \\Harley\Software\Archive Software\_ArchiveSave\petst.exe failed, 00000005.

[MONROE]: AAVM - scanning warning: x_AavmCheckFileDirectEx [UNI]: \\Harley\Software\Archive Software\_ArchiveSave\petst.exe (\\Harley\Software\Archive Software\_ArchiveSave\petst.exe) returning error, 00000005.

This error was occuring on ALL FILE TYPES.

Can someone please look into this?
