XP Windows security alerts
« on: December 13, 2007, 03:32:20 AM »
I am trying to find out why I periodically get a windows security alert which tells me that my virus protection  is out of date.  It then says that Avast reports that it MAY be out of date.  Usually this occurs upon turn on while Avast is updating but today it doesn't go away even though I tried power cycling the PC.  I tried running the update in Avast to no avail.  I even tried renewing my license key but no resolution. ???  Any help will be much appreciated.  Thanks, Sirunivac

hi! is your update autmatic or manual?
because I think windows security alerts shows that message when your update is manual.

This is usually associated with the system date being incorrect, double click the clock and ensure that the day month and year are correct.

Sometimes, system time and date are changed by malware. Can you run a fully scanning of your computer?
