Avast Online Security & Privacy: Cookie Manager Beta
« on: August 11, 2022, 09:53:13 PM »
Hello!

We are pleased to announce a new feature launch in the Avast Online Security & Privacy extension. This can be found in the Google Chrome Beta extension store here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/avast-online-security-pri/daanglpcpkjjlkhcbladppjphglbigam

What is this new feature and why is it important?

Are you tired of seeing the annoying Cookie banners that are present for every website you visit? Well, we have a way to make this experience more convenient for you.
We now provide our customers the ability to Auto-Accept or Auto-Decline these Cookie banners that are ever so present when browsing the web.
We would like to ask for some participation and volunteers to help us Beta test this new feature.

A few notes to keep in mind:
-If you already have the AOSP extension installed in Chrome, you will need to un-install that version first.
This is only available for Google Chrome and Windows users for this Beta launch.
-The goal of this Beta is to monitor performance, make sure that this works well and is understandable for users, and smooth out any post-launch, or UX issues along the way.
-This iteration covers 15 types of Cookie banners that we support. In case you still see a cookie banner while running the feature, please click on ‘Report a problem’ in the Feature UI, so we can look into resolving.
-We plan to expand on the amount of cookie banners we support with the upcoming Production release.
-We plan to run this Beta until the end of August 2022.

For any questions, feedback, or issues to report, please respond to this post.
Thanks for your participation, and we are looking forward to hearing your feedback.

Ron
