windows update issues
« on: December 17, 2007, 01:52:44 AM »
Hi guys,

can't tell why but I've recently reinstalled my OS and since then, I cannot go through Windows Update without having web shield and network shield deactivated, otherwise IE just freezes. As soon those providers are off, I can  run Win Update again. The standard shield is not an issue. Is that a normal behavior of Avast AV or do I have a bug? thanks for your help.

running WinXP Sp2 + Avast home + Win Defender + Comodo CFP 3.0
(the firewall is not an issue for Windows update, already checked)

update: I just cleaned my IE7 cache from the Windows Internet options instead of CCleaner as I use to and now Win Update runs with any provider activated, strange, but nice after all.

I just did my Windows updates last night with no problems.   Using Comodo and Firefox with IE tab extension.
XP/SP3, Intel Pentium 4, 992MB Ram, Avast 2014 Free, Chrome  with ABP , Private  Firewall 7.0,  MBAM, WinPatrol and Thunderbird 24.6.0
