Has this been released to the public  ?

There are reports of people getting Avast version 22.8 as an automatic program update - I did a manual program update installs Avast Free avast! free 22.8.6030 (build 22.8.7500.734), UI 1.0.722 this is not a beta build.  I haven't been on the beta stream for a very long time and did a clean reinstall when switching back ???

I don't see a new Program release for 22.8 (not beta) in the Forums. Is this an oversight or do you have a background update problem  ?
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Hi DavidR, thanks for bringing this up. Yes the 22.8 is public. The topic about 22.8 release should be on the forum in a moment.

Lets wait and see what the new 22.8 release notes say.

Personally I don't know why you feel the need to do a boot-time scan for.
Ordinarily there should be no need unless there is a problem that Avast can't deal with in a normal scan.

As mentioned in the other topic I gave you a link of, the Windows Recovery Environment scan can be temporarily disabled, which would/should revert to the old style Boot-Time scan, until this is resolved.
