Avast effect on Win10 booting/startup times

I would like to know more about the real startup time of my rather old laptop.
In any run of the Task Manager during startup shows that Avast is very busy at that period.
Hence my question: 
    how can I disable Avast so that none of its components start at startup, without uninstalling the whole package ?
(And then turn the components back on again after the experiment of course.)
Any info is appreciated.

That shouldn't be possible. There's an option to use Avast as a second opinion scanner, but even then some/all Avast services will run at startup. So to properly compare, you'll have to uninstall Avast.
IMO, I don't experience too much difference in startup since I have a SSD, but I can definitely notice the impact during shutdown. Avast slows down shutdown the most in my experience among the top AV products out there.

Old computers are usually slow by nature.
Old operating systems. Slow hard drives, lack of ram, etc
The less capable the computer, the more drag you'll notice
when a program like Avast which must have access and be able to scan
everything running on your system.
You can't turn of the program you charged with protecting your system.
If that were possible, how could Avast or any other reputable AV keep you safe.
One of the best and cheapest investments you can make to an old system besides replacing it,
is to update or increase the Ram and get an SSD hard drive. The SSD drive is probably the one
improvement that will get the most bang for the buck.
