Avast went crazy today - removed software development tools
« on: September 13, 2022, 11:59:24 AM »
I'm really blocked by Avast
Starting today, it removed:
 - k9s
 - Helm
 - kubectl

If keeps blocking them after reinstall and adding exception.

It detected WQin64:Evo-gen [Trj]

Never seen anything like that with any antivirus. Is there a remedy or removing Avast is the only way?

Hello,
the detected files should be in Quarantine. Can you extract them to some scanner excluded directory and send us for analysis, please? Use the https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php or upload to Virustotal and post link with results here.

Thanks,
Milos

My Avast also went crazy, starting today. Kubectl was moved to quarantine on my PC as well. I wrote a forum post about it earlier today.

In addition, when I tried to download installation media for Windows 11, it said that the download site for win11 "software-static.download.prss.microsoft.com/.... " was on a blacklist??

I am reinstalling Windows even though these likely are false alarms. I'm getting nervous from all these red alert messages... It's a real bummer to loose almost a day at work  due to this..
