Avast sometimes glitches the network DNS, causing internet issues

Sometimes Avast causes DNS glitch on my wifi, giving me "Err name not resolved" error on the browser. This is easily resolved by turning off the Avast shields, and then turning it back on. Still. It's weird that it happens rather often, to the point that I thought there was something wrong with the computer itself.

I have had the same problem for quite some time. Unchecking HTTPS scanning in the web shield makes the problem go away but some security  is sacrificed. I have not reported the problem to Avast so they may not even be aware of the issue. It has not been fixed in the latest beta.

Do you know how to report this? When I went to Support on the website, it sends me here to the forum because my Avast is just the Free one.

I don't know about the free version as I have the premium version. Getting involved with tech support can be time consuming. Hopefully someone from Avast will see these posts.

I did a clean install of beta version 6038 and the issue seems partially fixed. With network inspector and https scanning enabled, the issue still exists. Internet access is lost after several minutes. If network inspector is uninstalled and https scanning is enabled, all is fine. I am running a windows 10 machine up to date.

Are you sure it is Network Inspector? Please reinstall it, reproduce the issue and generate a support file. Please reply here with your support file ID.https://support.avast.com/article/submit-support-file/

Can you please try the latest version of Avast (22.10.6038)?

I've installed it, but I will need to report back later to see if the issue occurs again. As I mentioned in my original post Avast doesn't always affect the network like that. Sometimes my internet is fine, sometimes it doesn't.

 I do need to mention also that Avast seems to be affecting my computer's sleep/wake cycle. When Avast is turned on, it makes my computer take forever to enter sleep and wake up. It's to the point that I thought my computer is broken.

The issue disappeared when I temporarily uninstalled Avast. I'm now putting up with the slowness because I need the shields, but yeah... (My laptop is windows 8.1 so I imagine it might be an OS compatibility issue?)

My problem returned after a couple of hours. I even installed Avast One and the same problem is there. I'm moving to Bitdefender.
