I have Avast free on 4 PCs.  Two custom desktops and two laptops.
For a while now, I will manually force it to check for updates to the virus definitions and program, it never finds any.
It no longer will reactivate my license.
This happens on all four PCs.
I have tried repairing the install on all the PCs and various other tips I have found in the forum and other internet fora.
On one PC I have fully removed using removal tool and reinstalled.
The problem still remains on all my PCs.
Any ideas?

Are you using a firewall if so what ?
Does it allow all Avast connections ?

Are you getting any warnings, etc. if so post or attach an image of the warning, etc.
What operating system are you using ?
What Avast program version and build number are you using ?

Regarding reactivating your license, again how are you doing this and what errors are you getting.
In Avast free you should get a reminder 12 days before the renewal is needed, are you getting that ?

Hi,

It sounds like you cannot reach our servers. Do you have any proxy software installed on those devices, or do you have any VPN set up on your router? Or any other antivirus applications?

I have Commodo free firewall (firewall only).  I have tried disabling it, removing any Avast rules, no change.

I get no warnings or errors when trying to update defs or program, it searches then returns with the reported version unchanged, no warnings, messages, or any other indicator.

Windows 10 21H2

Avast ver. 22.8.6030-build 22.8.7500.749

To update Avast license, there's a portion of the main screen that says my free AV license is no longer valid and a green "REACTIVATE" button.  I press the button and get the "Select your security level" screen, I click on "SELECT" button from Avast Free and get a screen that says "Thank you for activating Avast Free Antivirus".  When I close that (because I don't want to upgrade to paid version, it goes back to the main screen and still says my free AV license is no longer valid.  I can also click the red "ACTIVATE" button which does the exact same thing.

I have no proxy server, VPN or AV other than Avast.

Thank you for your assistance.

Have you restarted (not shut down and turned on) your system since activating?

Since you're using the free version, why not do a clean install. (see my signature for help)

I've done a remove with the uninstall tool and reinstalled on one computer with no change.
