Random disconnection from internet (PC)

(1/2) > >>

hugocnx:
Hello all,
Since a couple of days my internet connection stops. Nothing changed on my Win10 PC; no idea what it might be. When I restart the PC, the internet connection is up like normal.
When checking ethernet adapters it says that 'network cable not connected'
'Avast secure line Wintun adapter'. Wireguard adapter seems to react on VPN on or off so looks okay.
Could this have anything to do with it?
See attachment.
Cheers, Hugo

Hi,

The screenshot shows that you are using the new WireGuard adapter instead of the old Wintun Adapter.
Do you notice the random disconnection issue only when using Avast SecureLine VPN?
Do you have killswitch enabled in Avast SecureLine VPN? https://support.avast.com/article/63/#idt_3600

Thanks for reply. I have to check and understand those options.
Funny thing is 2 day no interruptions; might be the provider as well.
I'll get back at you asap.
Cheers,
Hugo

Hi,
Kill switch was not activated at the time. Still isn't for specific reason.
If Wintun adapter is obsolete, should I delete it or is that impossible?

I haven't contacted my provider, but if it happens again it's the first thing I do.
Another day with no hick-ups so I call it a day.

Regards,
Hugo

Hi,
Thanks for the update.
You do not have to delete it.
The Wintun adapter is used for the Mimic and Open VPN Protocol
