Avast One Stopping Outbound SMTP traffic
« on: August 30, 2022, 08:10:39 AM »
Hi.  The latest version of Avast One (ver.22.8.6030-build 22.8.7500.734) is stopping outbound SMTP traffic if the Email Guardian is on and it is scanning outbound emails.  I did not have this problem with the previous version of Avast One.

The error that I get is "Socket Error # 10054 Connection reset".  If I stop the scanning of the outbound emails, the SMTP traffic is sent as usual.

This problem is occurring with a command line SMTP utility that I am using for system management functions.

Does anyone have a suggestion, apart from turning off the outbound email checking.

Thanks,
bd125

Hi,

What is the name of the command line SMTP utility? Please provide a support file ID. https://support.avast.com/article/Submit-support-file

Hi.  My apologies, I have been off-line for a while.

I just wanted to confirm that I have updated to the latest version of Avast One, and the SMTP problem has now been fixed.

Thank you to those who found and corrected the issue.
