From my experience with Avast, there is no one in the entire company of Avast who is capable of "taking responsibilty", "fixing a problem", "understanding an issue", "testing for incompatibilities", etc. The whole company lives in an untouchable ivory tower.
Of course, in a forum like this here, one is even worse off, because a forum manager/operator/head honcho is generally unable to
maintain any type of meaningful contact with Avast management and engineering.
I have zero contacts within the Russian mafia, but even if I did, those folks only kill, whereas I simply wanted to make forums useful,
customer service helpful and management caring about their own company. Finally, if it is true that Avast will be sold to Lifelock (which is the old Symantec in disguise) then all bets are off. Because in my experience, their expertise is buying other software companies, fire all their experts, and ruin the product. Remember what happened to Norton when it was bought by Symantec? I do remember it well, even if that was about 15 to 20 years ago. In short, I do not understand such self-destructive behavior of corporations. If you have to kick me off this forum now for saying true things you moderators don't want to hear, so be it.
