Tell me how to complain about Avast specialists?
« on: September 29, 2022, 04:09:05 PM »
The problem is this - my competitor added a site to the Phishtank.com service - where he made a vote by users whom he himself created - my site on this service received the Phishing status. I immediately began contacting various services regarding my problem - each site in turn began to remove me from the black list, including the OpenDNS team removed my site from the database. And then I wrote to the support service via the Avast form and a person answers me, I transfer your request to our specialists and receive a response:

My name is Milan and I work in the senior technical support team at Avast. Thank you for reporting this discovery. Sorry for the delay and I'm happy to help.

I checked the site with my virus specialist colleague. Based on the data obtained, the detection was removed. The website is now marked clean in Avast's virus database, so you should be able to browse it without any problems. This change will be automatically reflected in the latest version of Avast within 30 minutes. You can also update manually by following the steps in the article: Manually update virus definitions.

I rejoiced! But a week later, the Avast service started swearing at my site again, I write again and get an answer that everything is correct! My site is not phishing, I can’t even imagine who works there, what a stupid person does it! What should I do in such a situation when the site is clean and does not have any phishing; its specialist, without trial and comments, answers the same to my arguments and spoils the reputation of my site? Only through lawyers to send a lawsuit with compensation for damage to a malicious reputation?

Why does no one tell you where to go when you receive a template answer through the False Positive forum and it is not correct? What is the other mail? Is the only way out is to file a lawsuit to damage the reputation of the site?

Hi,

All false positives need to be reported via https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form
You can also use this form to complain if you disagree with the detection.

It doesn’t help people can’t distinguish my trademark there, they answer with a template that the blocking is correct, I wouldn’t write to the forum! What other form is there for contacting the management or a higher department, since some stupid people work there and it is not clear what they are paid for

From my experience with Avast, there is no one in the entire company of Avast who is capable of "taking responsibilty", "fixing a problem", "understanding an issue", "testing for incompatibilities", etc.  The whole company lives in an untouchable ivory tower.

Of course, in a forum like this here, one is even worse off, because a forum manager/operator/head honcho is generally unable to
maintain any type of meaningful contact with Avast management and engineering.

I have zero contacts within the Russian mafia, but even if I did, those folks only kill, whereas I simply wanted to make forums useful,
customer service helpful and management caring about their own company.  Finally, if it is true that Avast will be sold to Lifelock (which is the old Symantec in disguise) then all bets are off.  Because in my experience, their expertise is buying other software companies, fire all their experts, and ruin the product.  Remember what happened to Norton when it was bought by Symantec? I do remember it well, even if that was about 15 to 20 years ago.  In short, I do not understand such self-destructive behavior of corporations.  If you have to kick me off this forum now for saying true things you moderators don't want to hear, so be it.
