Avast will not allow me to save source code

I am trying to code in PureBasic. If I try to compile/link the nazi makes a lot of noise and refuses to allow the code to execute. if I run it in the sandbox, I'm not allowed to save the source code. I tried Exceptions and Allow/Block. Nothing wants to work as advertised. Can anyone advise as to what can be done?
