New browser version 109.0
« on: January 13, 2023, 03:39:31 PM »
Hello ASB community,

We’re pleased to announce that we have released a new beta version of Avast Secure Browser (ASB) for Windows - version 109.0.

Welcome to 2023! No big changes this time except the update to Chromium v109, a few bugs we’ve killed and some small improvements, making our secure browser faster and more stable.

Oh and there’s something more we would like to let you know: this is the latest secure browser release that users running Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 will get.

Why is this happening? Our Secure Browser is based on Chromium and the next Chromium update (v110) will remove Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 support. In order to receive any future browser updates, you’ll need to have a computer running Windows 10 or later. While previous versions of the secure browser will still work, they will not receive any further updates.

We strongly encourage users to use a supported OS with the latest version of the secure browser as they include important security updates and features that keep you safe while browsing online.

How to get this latest version
If you have ASB already installed, it should be updated automatically (feel free to visit 'secure://settings/help' to trigger an update faster)
Alternatively, you can download and install ASB from our official site:

We hope you enjoy the changes we have made, and as always we would love to hear your feedback. Please try our Browser also on your other devices. Besides the Windows version, it is available on iOS, Android and MacOS platforms, and with the Avast sync, you can synchronise the settings on all of them. You can download the MacOS version here, more information for iOS see here (English locales only), and for Android here or go straight to the App Store or Google Play Store.
