Hi malware fighters,

Returnil, what are your experiences with it? http://www.returnilvirtualsystem.com/index_files/rvspersonal.htm

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

I've used it sometimes...
The problem is that it does not 'work' for applications that requires a reboot to install. About these installations I'm much more afraid than the ones that does not require a restart (generally not adding low level drivers, services, etc.). RevoUninstall does the job for the applications that does not need to restart after installation.
Anyway, Returnil is a good application for testing or letting the system partition clean. I have installed avast is a second partition, as all other programs that requires updates, so I can use Returnil and update my system regularly if I need to use it.

I've been using it for a few weeks and think it's great.  Have it installed on 4 computers, without the virtual partition since I have other drives to save things to.  My PC's start with the protection turned off, I then turn it on when I go on the net.  I haven't noticed any slow down with it turned on even with 2 other virtual machines running, plus other apps.

I do the same.

My PC's start with the protection turned off, I then turn it on when I go on the net.  I haven't noticed any slow down with it turned on even with 2 other virtual machines running, plus other apps.
Good practice...

It is pretty stable on my machines. At the price of $0 it is worth using if you don't have anything better.

For those who want to see the basic install options, and a demo of it's power of protecting your C: drive, plus your MBR, here are some movies.

I use Returnil and runs very well, but is always off. Only is on when i want test a program.
Be careful if AVASt updates while Returnil is On, because at next reboot AVASt downdate. I repaired AVAST and no problems.
For me is a must have program.

This is why I have avast (and other programs) installed in other partition than the system one.
