How to make Avast completely invisible?
« on: March 11, 2004, 01:48:39 PM »
Hi, I want to configure Avast to be completely invisible. I do not want to know that new virus files have been installed. I do not want to know that a new program version requires a reboot. All this must happen completely in the background: I do trust Avast to perform this to my utmost satisfaction. But I do not want to be bothered at all! I want the update of the virus files to proceed silently, and new program versions to become active after the next reboot.
I have set the running mode to 'Silent' and have unselected the iAVS optoins 'Show update process', 'Show icon in task bar tray' and 'Ask for reboot when needed'. But nevertheless, avast shows a transparant popup telling me that a new version has been installed.
How the hell do I tell it to shut up?

Read carefully this forum: http://www.avast.com/forum/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1647

you will find a lot of 'hidden' configurations for avast!, including the ones you need.
