How to stop all the pop ups
« on: November 08, 2022, 07:07:01 AM »
I find Avast very frustrating with its virus-like behaviour.
I do not need the frustration of all the marketing pop ups.
These usually tell me that something is wrong and offers help. If I click on yes I am directed to some additional product at an extra cost.
All I want is the antivirus functionality.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the popup boxes.

This must be a recent change because Avast Free 22.9 does not offer the option.
Windows 10 Pro 22H2 x64, Avast Free 24.3.6108, Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit, Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware

This must be a recent change because Avast Free 22.9 does not offer the option.

Avast Free has never been able to completely disable promotional notifications for other avast products.  Avast UI > Menu > Settings > General > Personal Privacy

However, it is available in the paid versions.  The problem being the OP doesn't say what Avast program they are using.

Silent Mode will stop the ads. It will suppress ad-popups, but will also suppress actual alert popups. No way to only suppress the ads besides getting the paid version. It's nagware.
