Avast deletes Winzip, instead of the allegedly infected file
« on: November 14, 2022, 06:28:38 PM »
This is not the first time this has happened, already reported it and it HAS NOT been fixed.
I just opened a zip archive and executed the file contained inside of it. The file is incorrectly flagged as malware (IDP.generic.someshit), but not only avast incorrectly flags the file it also DELETED THE WINZIP EXECUTABLE!!!!!

this is a typical case of "shooting the messenger". what the hell is wrong with avast? why is avast deleting winzip, instead of just deleting the allegedly infected file???????
