Can Avast Stop MS Win - UpdateSessionOrchestration ???
« on: December 27, 2022, 07:20:50 PM »
I've tried to prevent UpdateSessionOrchestration from running, but Microsoft always finds a back door to secretly install security and application updates without my permission.  Then, Avast settings mysteriously change without my knowledge.  How can I block Microsoft updates with Avast Firewall.  >:(

What version of Windows?

You could use O&O ShutUp10++ to disable/enable Windows Updates.

Rundvleeskroket - I'm using Win 10 Pro for Workstations, but your suggestion will not work.  What is O&O ShutUp10++ disable/enable Windows Updates??? I've turned off and paused all machine updates.  I also previously disabled services, but another unknown o/s program wakes up and restarts the update process.  In the past, I deleted UpdateSessionOrchestration and removed all privileges on its files/folders.  I even turned off Windows Defender access rights.  I have noticed "new" scripts were then installed in another new directory which launched an ETL process to kick-off a Windows Update in a different manner.  However, my machine would occasionally crash whenever the process tried to run updates using UpdateSessionOrchestration after I removed all file/folder access rights.  Clearly, Microsoft has a backdoor hack linked to Windows Defender using UpdateSessionOrchestration.  I have reset my machine o/s and reinstalled Avast so many times while repeating the above steps which only provide a temporary run-time fix.

Hence, I need to know how Avast can be used to block all windows/security updates.  It would be a nice one button new feature for Avast, but I am willing to work with someone to manually set it up in the current stack.  I don't want to manually touch the registry. Cyber-Security protection doesn't exist, if Microsoft hackers can access a backdoor via UPDATES at any time and then change Avast firewall settings.  Hackers close machine windows at any time, swap out any Avast programs frequently and even prevent online Avast updates.

I don't know how Avast could do this.

O&O ShutUp is a free software program that lets you control many settings for Windows including telemetry, updates, etc. Google it.
