Hello, I noticed since yesterday afternoon that my Avast Online Security Browser Extension has not been blocking trackers, which it always has been doing. I tried uninstalling and re-installing it, but it still is not blocking trackers.

I use Firefox (the most current version (108.0.2, 64-bit).

I also have the most recent version of Avast Free (22.12.6044, build 22.12.7758.768).

It is also saying on Security Browser Extension "Get Avast One Premium to turn on tracking prevention and automatically block trackers as you browse the web." Does this mean the tracking prevention is no longer free?

Please help. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: When I click on View Blocked Trackers, it does say "1 trackers detected on forum.avast.com". It says it's a Web Analytic (Google Analytics), and when I click on the extension, it does say:

 "forum.avast.com
Everything looks good!

We’re constantly scanning the web and haven’t found anything bad here that’s trying to get your info."

I do have the latest version of the Browser Extension, version 22.11.173.

So it DOES still block trackers? Sorry if I seem a bit confused here.

If you click the AOSP icon on Firefox, a popup will appear stating:
"Prevent tracking on all websites
Get Avast One Premium to turn on tracking prevention and automatically block trackers as you browse the web."

So I read that as AOSP detects, but does not block Trackers.

Maybe consider adding uBlock Origin extension to your Firefox.

Sometimes you have to reload the website to make use of avast online security & privacy extension.

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!
