VPN kill switch blocked internet

VPN kill switch blocked internet access on MacBook pro.

I had Avast VPN on, with the "kill switch" active. At some point my internet access stopped and the Chrome browser showed a "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG" error and stopped loading pages. I was sure that the "kill switch" was blocking internet access somewhere in the settings, I turned it on/off from the app, but nothing happened. So I deleted the app. I am connected (!) to the Internet - the connection status is "Connected"; but the pages are still not loading.

I tried: li
*To reboot the device multiple times.
* Flushed DNS cache
*To "Forget" the current network and connect to another, still the same - connection status "connected", pages do not load.
* To reinstall the application. It installs until a certain point and then an error message appears that says “Installation failed. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact Manufacturer”…

How do I activate the internet again? Thank you in advance for your advices!
