Are you trying to say what avast webshield is not scanning traffic when you are using Firefox? Or what? Sorry but I can't understand your question at the moment...  ???

In case of =YLAP='s guess is true -- try go following instruction on http://www.avast.com/files/tutorials/ws_ffproxy.htm
Please, let us know if it helps.

For Windows 9x, you have to manually configure the browser proxy, as described here: http://www.avast.com/eng/faq-home-webshield.html
For Windows XP/Vista, you have to do nothing, it's automatic.
Do you use any proxy application (an annonimizer, for instance)?
